Outlander season 4: Ainsley Jordan cast as Judith Wylie
The news of Jordan’s casting was confirmed Friday morning on social media, with the newcomer retweeting the post seen below. Judith Wylie is the sister of Phillip Wylie, a wealthy plantation owner. The two come into contact with Jamie and Claire presumably at Jocasta Cameron’s home at River Run, or at least that is the way that it is in the source material. Phillip in the books does take a specific interest in Claire; the post below notes that Judith is a “love rival” to Claire, but we don’t necessarily perceive that being the case on some sort of grand level.
This is likely just a minor character within the fourth season, but you should get a chance to see Judith and Phillip at around the same time that you see Andrew MacNeill, who was also recently cast on the series. These characters altogether should play a significant role in helping to cultivate the fabric of North Carolina, the setting for the fourth season. Given that we are in such a different place than ever before this means in turn a chance to meet many different characters. Some should end up becoming friends to Jamie and Claire; however, there are going to be some others who prove more to be rivals or adversaries. It’s just like anywhere else in the world where there are going to be plenty of people who either like you or dislike you depending on how they are feeling at that given point in time.

New episodes of Outlander are currently set to air on Starz later this year. If this casting is being announced in conjunction with the episodes that are currently being produced, it is likely that you will see Judith Wylie in the fifth or sixth episode of the season. Filming is expected to continue until either late spring / early summer depending on the timeline.
