Once Upon a Time season 7: Will we meet Hook, Emma’s baby?
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis confirmed that there are no plans to show Killian and Emma’s new child later this year. That’s somewhat of a bummer given that we know she is expecting; yet, that may not be altogether the point here. If we were to speculate on the subject for the time being, we would say that the real purpose of this baby being introduced was mostly to just push Hook and Emma towards a happily ever after. It was a reminder to fans that they reached the culmination of their journey and, when the dust settled, were getting everything that they could possibly want. They deserve it.
Now that we’ve said all of that … we would obviously want to see what their life looks like before the series inevitably ends. We do want to interpret the producers’ response here as a hope that there could be another season of the show coming up in the future. The good news is that the DVR ratings for season 7 of Once Upon a Time to date are pretty great. The bad news? Well, the live ratings leave a lot to be desired, and as a result of that there isn’t altogether a reason to think that a season 8 renewal is a lock.

This is all ultimately wishful thinking on our part, given that the real reason we may not be seeing some of these characters again is simply due to the fact that there may just not be room in the story that is left this year. If there is already a perception that Emma and Killian already have their happy ending, the desire instead on the part of producers could be to focus on the other heroes and tie together some of those stories?
