Is Wynonna Earp season 3 right time for Wayhaught engagement?
We should start things off by noting that this article is, by and large, pure speculation. But, why wouldn’t we want to speculate on one of the series’ most-beloved couples? Waverly Earp and Nicole Haught are one of the series’ pivotal couples, and they represent just about everything that you know and love about the series: Passion, fun, adventure, and a little bit of snarky humor. They have the same struggles that any couple would have, but they find a way to work through it while also living their lives to the fullest. There are a lot of prospective TV couples out there that, when together, just don’t have the same sort of magic. For many of these cases, the longing for the pair to get together is more alluring than the actual relationship.
Clearly, that’s not the case with Wayhaught and that brings us back to the article’s central question: Is this the right time for an engagement?
These two characters are still young and with that, there’s clearly no urgency for them to rush into another phase of their lives. Yet, they’ve also been together for a while now and made their feelings for each other clear. Neither is looking to be with anyone else and we do think that season 3 is a time in which they may start thinking about what their future could be. That doesn’t mean that an engagement happens, but it’s something that Wynonna Earp could want to build towards.
This idea is certainly something that would mean a lot to many fans. While there are starting to be more LGBTQ relationships represented on television than there was ten or even five years ago, there aren’t too many of them that turn into weddings. Often the same-sex couple finds themselves in a position where they are broken up in some sort of heartbroken manner, whether it be one of the actors leaving the show or the character getting killed off for “creative reasons.” In this case, it would be lovely to see a couple like Waverly and Nicole go the distance and have a chance to celebrate what is a culmination of their entire journey. If they get engaged, you could still save a wedding for a season 4.
We do think to a certain extent time is of the essence — there’s no reason to rush, but at the same time you need to have a cognizance that Syfy is not exactly known for having shows that last all that long. We’re confident that there will be a Wynonna Earp season 4 (read more on that here), but you never want to bank on anything in this business.
Overall, an engagement is something that we hope is being considered coming up for season 3 — it would obviously mean a lot for some of the characters, and beyond that in turn it would mean the world to some of the Earpers who adore the show.
