Scorpion season 4 episode 14 review: Love is in the air

Who would’ve known that Scorpion season 4 episode 14 would be such a romantic episode and we’re not even at Valentine’s Day just yet?

This episode basically told a series of stories that were themed all around a lighthouse, a storm that caused much of Los Angeles to operate without power, and a rescue mission involving a teen pilot and his girlfriend. Basically, one of the biggest themes of this story was that you miss 100% of the shots that you don’t take, and this caused the pilot to admit to his girlfriend that he loved her and had for years.

This confession, in turn, ended up being rather valuable for Cabe as he struggled with a confession of his own: Finding a way to admit to his girlfriend Allie that he was in love with her. This moment was super-sweet for Cabe, mostly because being vulnerable is not the sort of thing that he excels at.

Walter, meanwhile, needed to figure out a way to be a little bit more vulnerable in his own way: Trying to communicate with children. It didn’t matter if he was doing his Walt’s Wizards video or spending time with kids in the midst of a mission. Either way, he needed to remember that there are different ways to communicate with people depending on the situation. With the help of Paige and the rest of the team, he was able to figure that out.

There was also something else that Paige had to figure out in the episode, as well: Trying to determine how to come to grips with Walter’s dream about Florence. There wasn’t anything here of great importance, but she still struggled with it before realizing that there was no reason to feel threatened. She did nothing wrong; as a matter of fact, all Florence wanted was a little bit of friendship. Walter’s dream in this case just didn’t make a whole lot of sense; he couldn’t really explain it other than that he knew that the goal of his dream was to get back to Paige, the woman that he trusted and cared for more than anyone.

Final Verdict

Scorpion season 4 episode 14 was memorable to us mostly for all of the love stories, especially when it comes to Cabe. He’s probably the character who has evolved the most since the start of the series, and after seeing Robert Patrick in so many tough-guy roles over the years it’s rather nice to see him take on something a little bit more vulnerable.
