Suits 2018 return date announcement soon, says creator
In a post on Twitter, though, show executive producer Aaron Korsh made it clear that the return date is going to be announced “soon.” How soon? Our feeling is that at some point over the next few weeks you’ll learn for sure when the series is coming back. Based on the last time the Winter Olympics were on the air in 2014, the easy assumption to make is that Suits season 7 will start airing its final six episodes in March.
There also may be another factor that USA is considering, one that they have really not been faced with before: Wanting to capitalize on the popularity of Meghan Markle and her impending marriage to Prince Harry. Given that their wedding is coming in May, there is a part of us that thinks that the network may hold off on these final episodes until late March or even April so that they can air her final episode leading up to the big ceremony. We don’t blame USA if they want to do that — this is a business, and they obviously want to make as much money off of Suits as they can. Also, it is mutually beneficial if more viewers do find the series because of Markle — if even 5 or 10% of viewers who discover the show because of her stick around, that could help the series out in the future.
We should of course note that there is no season 8 renewal at the moment, but we still feel largely optimistic that there will be at least one more batch of episodes. There’s a lot of story that the USA series can take on even without Markle or Patrick J. Adams, who is also reportedly set to depart.

One other thing we’re waiting on at the moment is the status of the still-untitled Suits spin-off series featuring Gina Torres as Jessica Pearson. At the moment, we’re cautiously optimistic that we’ll get a chance to see this show come to fruition.

Suits has had a great run, and I could watch Sarah Rafferty for hours and never get tired of her, but with all the original conflicts resolved, questions answered, and with more than half of the original cast gone, it’s probably time to wrap it up. Harvey and Donna will they/won’t they is just silly soap-opera fluff, and has already been beaten into the ground. If Meghan Markle’s and maybe Patrick Adams’ departure will mean more screen time for the unbearable and endlessly obnoxious Rick Hoffman, I’m done — I already mute most of the segments he’s in.
