Supergirl season 3 episode 12: Could Lena Luthor kill Morgan Edge?

Lena Luthor

Clearly, Supergirl season 3 episode 12 wants us to start to think that Lena Luthor’s dark side could be coming out to play — and understandably so, given that Morgan Edge’s has been out there for some time. He views her as a threat, and he’s the sort of guy who will do just about anything to ensure that potential threats are out of the way.

This episode, entitled “For Good,” is going to be the biggest test for Lena that we’ve seen so far this season. The title is as good of a reference to this good vs. evil struggle as we’re going to get. Kara is going to be there for her in order to ensure that she doesn’t do anything rash — whether or not she succeeds in that is a different story. The Supergirl season 3 episode 12 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below gives you a pretty good indication of what’s ahead:

MORGAN EDGE THREATENS LENA – Someone tries to kill Morgan Edge (guest star Adrian Pasdar) and he barely survives. He accuses Lena (Katie McGrath) of being behind the attempt and vows to destroy her. When Lena fears her hatred for Morgan will take her to the Luthor dark side, Kara (Melissa Benoist) steps in to help her friend. Meanwhile, after Sam (Odette Annable) realizes she’s losing time, she confides in Alex (Chyler Leigh) who decides to run some medical tests to see if she can find out what’s going on with her new friend. Tawnia McKiernan directed the episode with story by Robert Rovner and teleplay by Cindy Lichtman & Alix Sternberg (#312).

The hubris of Morgan Edge in some ways is astounding. After all, this is a mere mortal who is running around National City, flexing his muscles and acting like he owns and controls the place. Yet, he’s already been humbled several times and he could be losing his life at the end of his shenanigans. When he going to realize that he’s so much better off just getting out of dodge when he has the opportunity to do so?

As for the other part of Supergirl season 3 episode 12…

It definitely looks like this could be the episode where Samantha learns that she is Reign — at the same time, it could be when Alex either figures it out or starts to suspect something. The problem she runs into is this: Even if she starts to have some suspicions about her alter ego, is anyone going to believe her?
