The X-Files season 11 episode 6: See Haley Joel Osment’s character
As you can see in the photo above, we’ve got a sense of Haley Joel Osment’s character in action!
The unfortunate news here is that there is not much else in the way of insight right now as to precisely who Osment is playing, other than that this is an episode that is incredibly significant to Walter Skinner. While this character may be incredibly significant to the overall structure and mythos of the entire series, there is still much about him we still don’t know; with that, there is also so much more to explore here.
In speaking out about this to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Chris Carter said the following about the big Skinner episode:
“We’ve really never explored the character of Walter Skinner … We learn more about Skinner and more about his connections to Mulder and Scully and how he’s been a loyal advocate of theirs at his own expense. We learn about his young life and the X-Files moment he experienced as a much younger man.”
This is going to mark an exciting opportunity for the show to dive into what is largely uncharted territory with a character we’ve long wanted more insight about. You’ll see more of his motives through this story, and get more insight into why he became the way that he is. Hopefully, Osment’s character plays a key role in this story somehow. Given that he is pictured alongside Skinner in what seems to be the present, it’s possible that Haley Joel will not be involved in flashbacks.

Following his days as a child actor, Osment burst back onto the scene last year on HBO’s Silicon Valley. This appears to be just a one-episode gig for now, but with a show like The X-Files there are always going to be opportunities to see more of someone after the fact.
