NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 12 sneak peek: Deeks becomes the Riddler
So what is Deeks doing to test the team now? We’ve got an NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 12 sneak peek below for “Under Pressure” that gives you a good sense of it.
In this sneak peek, Deeks decides that it would be a good idea to see if some of his fellow team members can handle a little brain-teaser that he throws at them. He presents the teaser (much to the chagrin of Kensi), but somehow by the end of it he figures out a way to get everyone on board. Or, at least Kensi, Sam, and Callen. Eric shows up and eventually answers the riddle, but does so in the most ridiculous fashion possible. (Apparently, Eric likes throwing in references to kilts into some of his answers.)
In a word, this is amusing. We also like the idea that Deeks is trying to give everyone an “educational activity to hone their sense of deduction” first thing in the morning. He’s basically the NCIS version of the guy who tries to get everyone in the office to help him with a crossroad … even though he already knows many of the answers.

Beyond this sneak peek there really isn’t all that much known about the case of the week, other than that it involves napalm which makes it very easy to make a reference about the fresh smell of napalm in the morning. This is an episode that could be the last of its kind for a while, given that the main push of 9×13 is going to be watching Deeks, Kensi, Sam, and Callen head over to Vietnam in order to hopefully free Hetty from where she’s imprisoned. That could be the conclusion of an arc that, one way or another, has been going since the very start of this season.
