911 episode 2 preview: What’s next for Connie Britton, cast

What’s the road ahead look like on 911 episode 2? The Connie Britton series did a great job tonight introducing the TV landscape to some of the main characters. Here, the challenge becomes finding ways for them to be endearing and interesting week after week. We’re going to keep waiting for some sort of crazy, surprising twist to come given that on the surface, 911 feels a little bit too ordinary for a show executive produced by Ryan Murphy. It’s also trying to do a lot since it almost throws all of One Chicago into a single show.

911 episode 2 could be the episode that decides whether or not viewers are going to stick with this show or kick it to the curb. For a little more insight into what’s coming, CarterMatt has the full 911 episode 2 synopsis below:

A night at an amusement park takes a deadly turn when a rollercoaster malfunction leaves lives hanging in the balance. Abby is relieved after getting some help taking care of her mother and tentatively reaches out to Buck, who is struggling with the “life or death” nature of the being a firefighter. Meanwhile, Athena and Hen respond to an unusual home invasion and a couple’s dispute leads to a dramatic rescue for Bobby.

While we are excited to find out a little bit more of what is going to happen with Britton’s character of Abby and the remainder of the characters on this show, we are admittedly still in the getting-to-know-you phase of this series. It’s hard to have expectations for any of these characters without knowing what it is that they’re going to do in a given moment. It’s also hard still to drive a lot of excitement hope when we’ve yet to see the ratings for the 911 premiere. We’ll see that tomorrow, and hopefully learn in the process whether or not the presence of Britton, Peter Krause (who we loved on Six Feet Under), and Angela Bassett leads to strong ratings … or if the fairly-familiar premise scared off some of Murphy’s more-devoted fans.

Rest assured that once some of those numbers are available tomorrow, we’ll let you know.
