MacGyver in 2018: 5 things we’d like to see unfold

Hawaii Five-0 crossover

What are we hoping to see from MacGyver in 2018? The great news here is that we’re not going to have to wait all that long in order to find out. The Lucas Till – George Eads series is returning with new episodes on January 5, and given the massive cliffhanger that is there with Samantha Cage you got a lot to look forward to.

Below, you can see the five things we’re looking forward to seeing with the show at some point this year, whether it be in season 2 or (hopefully) a season 3 for the series airing this fall.

1. Save Samantha – Would the show really kill her off in such a way? We do think it’s possible, given that this is a show that did write out Sandrine Holt halfway through the first season in pretty stunning fashion. If they feel like this is a big twist that would inspire Mac and the rest of the team to go after Murdoc, we could see it happening — yet, we do like have Cage aboard the team as another person who can go out in the field! We’ll hopefully get a good sense as to what happens within the first episode.

2. More Murdoc – We suppose the struggle with Murdoc is figuring out how much to use him so that seeing him is still terrifying — you want him to be gone for a while between appearances since you want to think that he’s off cooking up his next plan. Yet, we’d like to get at least three or four episodes of him in the new year! He’s our Big Bad; plus, David Dastmalchian is so gleefully evil in this role.

3. Some sort of Bozer / Riley storyline – Last season, the story was that Bozer had feelings for Riley and she was unavailable to him. It would be fun at this point in the show to see the tables turned somewhat and Riley suddenly in the position where she was the vulnerable one and he was preoccupied.

4. Explore the Matty Webber – MacGyver – We’ve got a good sense now that there is some unexplored backstory here, but there hasn’t exactly been a whole lot of time in order to properly explore it. Maybe give the two coming up a case where they are forced to work together separate from everyone; that would absolutely give them an opportunity to talk things out a little bit.

5. Another Hawaii Five-0 crossover – Please? Also, can we have Steve involved in it somehow this time? It’s already been established that Jack knows of McGarrett on some level.
