The Good Doctor episode 12: Could Shaun Murphy quit?
What’s coming up in this installment? Well, let’s just say that Jared may not be the only character this season to leave the hospital, whether it be their decision or not. During the first part of “Islands” Shaun Murphy is going to find himself taking a trip (read more about that over here); on the other side of this said trip, he may start to consider whether or not this is a career he continues to want to pursue. The pressure of the hospital got to him in the first half of the season, especially when it comes to his relationship with Dr. Glassman. He struggled with the idea of being under his wing and being told that he needed to undergo some sort of treatment. Shaun struggles, but he doesn’t want anyone to enforce their own opinion on his struggles … especially when it comes to things that he needs to do to overcome them.
It’s one thing for Shaun to go off on an impromptu road trip; it’s another thing for him to quit his job outright. This is obviously one of the biggest stories worth watching as you approach the show coming on the air.
For those wondering about the medical side of the show, rest assured that there is also a case at the San Jose Boneventure Hospital that is going to force some of the doctors to make a life-changing decision. While we know that they technically do have to make these sort of choices on a fairly regular basis, this one may still stand out in significance far more than some of the others have over time.
If you love good drama, it seems fair to say that The Good Doctor is going to shape up to provide that and then some when it returns.
