When Calls the Heart season 14: Melissa Gilbert not returning
While we know that a number of familiar faces are returning for When Calls the Heart season 14 at Hallmark Channel, we know one who will not: Melissa Gilbert.
In a new post on Instagram, the Little House on the Prairie alum noted that “many people have asked if I will be returning to [WCTH] this coming season. The answer to that is no I will not. I am told this is due to ‘budget issues.’ That said, I wish all my sweet friends in Hope Valley a wonderful and successful Season 14.”

Does this mean that we are never going to see Georgie McGill back? Hardly, but it definitely seems she will be gone for the time being, as TVLine confirmed it with a statement from the Hallmark Channel themselves:
“We can confirm that Melissa’s storyline on ‘When Calls the Heart’ concluded in Season 13. We adore Melissa and are always grateful when we get to work with her.”
Most of the headlines entering season 14 have been about two different things as of late: A potential wedding for Nathan and Elizabeth and beyond just that, a chance to see Lori Loughlin back for a major stint as Abigail. This comes on the heels of her being away from the show for years and with that in mind, it does prove to be a theoretical reminder of how we could see Gilbert back if the producers come up with a good story.
For now, note that season 14 of the series is currently in production, and we imagine that this is going to last over the weeks and months ahead.
