Outlander Weekly Roundup: A season 3 marathon; other odds & ends

Watch the Outlander season 3 premiere

Ready for another edition of our Outlander Weekly Roundup? We’re branding this after starting it up last week — every Sunday during the Droughtlander (and maybe longer, we’ll see), these pieces will be provided to share with you a bit of fresh news coupled with some of the headlines from the week. It’s a busy time, especially during the holidays, and we want to be able to be fully caught up on everything!

Speaking of the holidays, we come bearing some good news if you’re planning to watch Outlander on Christmas — Starz is making it especially easy on you! Starting at 11:00 a.m. Eastern on Christmas Day you can catch up on the third season, or watch again as a Christmas gift to yourself. Either way, this is a great opportunity to see the epic love story of Jamie and Claire Fraser. Kudos to the network for giving it some extra love.

Starz is using this weekend to promote many of their most-popular series; today on Christmas Eve, they are replaying the most-recent season of Power.

(In case you need a reminder at the end of the article, we’ve enclosed a tweet.)

Other news of the week

Some mock Outlander gift ideas – While none of the suggestions that we have for gifts actually exist, we do think that this is a fun piece designed to make you smile and have you use your imagination.

A little more fun via Sam Heughan and Steven Cree – Few co-stars have a more entertaining relationship than these two!

Season 4 progress during the holiday break – Even though filming may be over, that doesn’t mean that there is no work being done on next season…

A peek behind the scenes – Here, executive producers Matthew B. Roberts and Toni Graphia discuss the show’s story to date and some of the ideas and themes that are going to be explored in season 4.

Our Outlander season 5 renewal wish – What better Christmas gift would there be than seeing the show back for another batch of episodes?

Sam Heughan movie news – For those who have not heard, Sam’s new project The Spy Who Dumped Me now has a new release date.

Why SNL needs to do an Outlander parody – After all, the show is ripe for a good skewering! Given that Heughan worked with Kate McKinnon on the aforementioned movie, there’s a common connection to the late-night sketch show.

Outlander character questions: The future for Roger Wakefield – Finally, we present for you the latest in our weekly character-based series.

As always, we welcome some of your thoughts on this story in the comments, and Merry Christmas! We’re incredibly grateful for all of your readership and support.
