The Big Bang Theory season 11 episode 12 return date for Jim Parsons, cast
Following Thursday night’s new episode, (which also just so happens to be the fall finale for this series on CBS), you are going to get a chance to see a little more of the show starting on Thursday, January 4. It’s not a super-long hiatus when you compare it to some other shows that are out there, but it’s long enough to make fans miss the show while it’s gone. It’ll reset some of the stories, but also continue a few others. Take, for example, the ever-evolving storyline revolving around Sheldon and Amy as they prepare for their big wedding day.

“The Matrimonial Metric” – To discover who would be most qualified to be best man and maid of honor at their wedding, Sheldon and Amy subject their friends to a series of secret experiments. Also, Penny reveals her true feelings about Amy, on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, Jan. 4 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
We don’t think that it’s too difficult to explain what the primary source of appeal for this episode is: Watching Amy and Sheldon torment some of their friends. This is clearly something that Sheldon is very used to — at least unintentionally, in that he’s been doing it forever. For Amy, maybe this is somewhat more uncharted territory, though we know that she has been rather lacking in the self-awareness at times when it comes to Penny and the friendship that is there.
It’s this self-awareness that raises some interesting questions about the Penny / Amy storyline. We don’t think that any person out there wants to see a storyline where Amy feels insulted and Penny makes her think that the two are not actually friends. Luckily, it’s hard it imagine that something like that is going to happen given that this is an upbeat, positive show. We also like to think that Amy has come to matter to Penny perhaps even more than Penny realizes.
