This Is Us season 2 episode 11 return date pushed back
According to Entertainment Weekly, the NBC show’s midseason return is being pushed back to January 9 — there is no clear reason given for the move but that now means there will be one less episode presumably airing between this date and the start of the Winter Olympics. When that happens in February, This Is Us and the bulk of NBC’s shows will all be going on hiatus.
When This Is Us season 2 episode 11 comes back, there’s obviously going to be a lot for the show to address — the fissures between the Big Three are certainly present now, or at least they are between Randall and Kevin after the latter’s arrest. Meanwhile, Kate is probably going to be recovering still from the miscarriage while, in the past, we’re inching ever closer to the time of Jack’s death. We don’t necessarily want the entirety of this season to be about that mystery, so we hope the writers just resolve that sooner rather than later. (The big risk to this sort of reveal is that you hype it up to such an extent that it never lives up to top billing after the fact.)
This Is Us season 2 continues to be a winner for NBC, and we’ve got a feeling that it will continue to be that no matter how many episodes it airs before the Olympics. It also has a season 3 already ordered so there is absolutely zero that it has to be concerned about from a ratings vantage point. If you love the show, patience is the only thing that we can preach for the time being.
