Is The Good Doctor new tonight on ABC? The series has become one of the biggest hits of the fall; with that, we have a hunger for more!

Unfortunately, we are now in the midst of a lengthy waiting period for more new episodes to come on the air. There is no new episode airing on ABC tonight, largely because this past week was the winter finale. The show left you on quite a number of cliffhangers, with the two most prominent ones being A) Shaun Murphy storming out of the hospital in the midst of a heated exchange with Dr. Glassman and B) Jared being fired from his job after the incident with Dr. Coyle — when, in reality, he was just standing up for Claire after she was sexually harassed in the workplace.

When the show does return to ABC (read more on the official return date over here), we’re hoping to get a better sense as to how these situations are going to unfold. For Shaun, the first order of business is going to be finding him. Beyond that, the next is going to be seeing how to help him — and trying to see if he will realize that therapy could be a viable option for him. Through much of the season to date he’s shied away from that, but he could be approaching a time in which this is one of the best possible options.

As for Jared, we’re hoping that there is some way in which his name can be cleared and he can work his way back into being a doctor — it’s certainly possible that Coyle will be caught in the act being terrible, and that could help to corroborate his story. After all, at the moment it seems like Jared is the only person being punished.

At some point between now and when The Good Doctor returns to ABC in the new year, don’t be altogether surprised to see the show renewed for a second season. When you consider the ratings to date there’s almost zero reason to think that the show is going to be heading anywhere other than back on the air for another batch of episodes.
