NeNe Leakes and Porsha Williams square off on Real Housewives of Atlanta

There have been many ridiculous, over-the-top confrontations over the years on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Yet, the one coming on Sunday’s episode between NeNe Leakes and Porsha Williams may have to take the cake as one of the strangest. This is basically a fight that stems from the two deciding that they want to get upset with each other for being upset. It’s almost like they each think that it’s wrong for the other person to be mad about things that happened in the past (namely, Leakes shading Williams on Watch What Happens Live!), and as a result of that they’re going to argue with each other on the subject incessantly until they determine who is actually the maddest.

The sneak peek below gives you a small sense of what to expect there, and to go along with that also provides a pretty good reminder as to how the two parties don’t seem to be accomplishing anything at all. It’s fighting for the sake of fighting without any real purpose; everyone else at the table during the party is just an active witness to the pandemonium.

NeNe’s “Never Forget” party concludes in an unforgettable way, leaving the girls trying to make sense of what transpired between Kenya and Kim. Cynthia opens up to her daughter about her new man, while Kenya grapples with heartbreaking family news. Despite lingering tensions, Shereé invites the girls on a “healing” trip to San Francisco, where she reveals a shocking secret about her romantic life. A beautiful dinner takes an ugly turn when NeNe and Porsha air their grievances, and all bets are off.

So basically a “healing” trip to San Francisco instead ends up bringing up old wounds and making everyone metaphorically bleed again. Only in the Real Housewives universe can there be this sort of near-constant irony. Even when some of these women are trying to get better, something comes up that leaves them all arguing with each other more than ever before. This is a pattern that we don’t foresee stopping at any point in the near future since many viewers tune in for this reason. Personally, we’ve always tuned in for the glamour of it all and the amazing vacations destinations they go to.
