CarterMatt Awards 2017: This year’s categories, rules, and nominations / results schedule
Welcome to the Sixth Annual CarterMatt Awards! Over the years this has become an exciting, fun way for the CarterMatt staff to celebrate a fantastic year in TV and we have every intention of it being just as fun in 2017. The goal here is simple: To recognize some TV favorites across many categories — including many who don’t often get the recognition that they deserve. We’re talking here about everyone from shows, performers, showrunners and the fans. Given that so many of you are responsible for keeping the shows on the air, don’t you deserve some celebration here?
This article is going to be your one-stop shop for all things CarterMatt Awards related throughout the month. We’ve got for you below a full list of this year’s categories (including two new ones — Hero of the Year and Villain of the Year), plus also a schedule as to when some of the nominations for these categories are going to be announced. All nominations will be announced at 4:00 p.m. Eastern (1:00 p.m. Pacific) on the days specified. This way, there is no confusion and you know when a new set of nominations is coming online!
Voting Rules – As in years past, we keep things fairly simple — our polls are located at the bottom of our nomination articles and you can vote however often you’d like. We allow repeat voting, but you may need to clear your cache/browser or use a separate device in order to do so. If you are on mobile and cannot see the poll, scroll to the bottom of the article and click to view the non-AMP version.
Voting begins immediately after the nominations are posted and concludes moments before the results are announced. All results are announced on the days specified below at 4:00 p.m. Eastern. For example, voting for Underrated Show is open from December 1 until December 26, when the results are officially announced at 4:00.

Wednesday, December 27 – Top Actor, Top Actress, and Favorite Showrunner
Thursday, December 28 – Best Fanbase, Best Couple, and ‘Ship of the Year
Friday, December 29 – Breakout Star, Hero of the Year, and Villain of the Year
Saturday, December 30 – Best New Show and Best Reality Star
Sunday, December 31 – Show of the Year

I’m not sure that my vote is even counting. It’s been the same % points for Best Actress for 2 days! How do you tell if your vote counts?

Hi, There are over 13000 votes on this poll and the number of votes is listed at the bottom of every poll. Because there are so many votes (and so many people on the polls at any given time) you may be voting against other people at the same time. We’ve just checked all the polls and they are working properly.
