Blue Bloods season 8 episode 9 video: Jamie Reagan’s moral struggle

Blue Bloods season 8

Blue Bloods season 8 episode 9 is airing on CBS Friday night and the latest sneak peek gives you a pretty good sense as to what’s coming.

This scene is a classic Reagan family dinner scene, but at the center of it is a difficult struggle that Jamie is dealing with. Crimes are crimes, and in his mind it doesn’t matter who the victim is. He still is, one way or another, sworn to protect everyone who needs his protecting. The unfortunate thing about this situation is that the person he is trying to protect is a child predator, someone who was beaten to a pulp in what seems to be a preemptive strike by someone concerned about them being too close in proximity.

Was what the assailant did correct? Frank and Danny both seem to sympathize and feel like the last thing that you should be okay with is someone getting close to your family, otherwise known as the people who matter the most to you. Yet, Danny also makes it clear that there are consequences. For example, you can choose to beat someone up who you feel threatens your family, but that doesn’t make you immune from the law. You still broke it by committing an act of violence and have to pay whatever the consequences are for those actions.

Blue Bloods season 8 episode 9 will hopefully give a good resolution to this story as Jamie tries to figure out what he wants to do and how he wants to handle this situation. The end result of this will likely cement more of where he stands on key issues, which is in turn fairly important to how the rest of the department perceives him. We know that for Jamie pride is very important in his work as is making sure that people are held accountable, regardless of the crime or who they are committing the crime against. He is probably the most lawfully good out of all of the cop characters on the show; he understands that there is a morally gray area, but he doesn’t live in it as much as either Danny or Frank. This is what makes him different and what helps him to stand out in this family.
