Should NCIS season 15 pair up Gibbs and Jack Sloane?

Mrs. Carter: Should NCIS season 15 be the season for Agent Gibbs and Jack Sloane to get together?

For the time being, the two characters aren’t exactly a romantic item. Yet, it is fairly easy to read some of the tea leaves here and see that there’s a little bit of chemistry. The two parties do seem to have a good working relationship, and they’ve come to understand each other about as well as they could in this specific period of time. This is probably where some of Sloane’s skills as a profiler probably come in handy the most, given that she is able to identity some of the values that appeal the most to Gibbs. She’s not bending himself to meet those values, but she’s acutely aware of how to impress him and make him feel as though she is actively listening and supportive of him.

Meanwhile, for Gibbs we just feel like there’s something appealing about a woman who both openly challenges him and also is so successful at her job. Are there probably hangups with a romantic pairing? Sure, mostly because of how by-the-book Gibbs is and his reticence to have any sort of workplace romance. If anyone could break that, it could be Sloane — but we don’t expect the show to hurry anything along there.

At the end of this season, NCIS is unfortunately losing the incredible Pauley Perrette as Abby — building up to that exit is probably going to be the main event of this season. In between that and McGee / Delilah welcoming a baby on Tuesday night’s new episode, they’ve got enough personal storylines to last a while. A Gibbs / Sloane pairing to us is one best suited to happen in a possible season 16. While the show hasn’t been officially renewed as of yet, it feels like it’s going to be a sure thing. Keeping the cards close to the vest when it comes to Gibbs and Sloane gives you something to look forward to in the future — offer up a tease about something that could happen while also giving you more of a chance to see the two parties build a relationship in the present. This is, effectively, the show doing everything that it can to provide you something exciting in the now plus also something that could be exciting coming up in the future.

For now, it’s a little too early to pair them up since Sloane has really only been around for a few episodes. Yet, we like having a little bit of intrigue in the Gibbs – romance department given that it’s been so long since it has been there in any shape or form.
