What lies ahead on Howards End episode 3? Based on the preliminary details that are out there (courtesy of BBC One), quite a bit! We are gearing up for the most dramatic episode to date, one ripe with twists aplenty and then also conflict that stems so far beyond what we’ve come to see with Margaret and Helen.
Given that this is just a four-episode series, you can’t be all that surprised to see some of the clashes that are coming up — the one unfortunate thing is that many of them are coming while at a wedding, which probably means that this is going to be one of the worst days of Evie Wilcox’s life. All of the buildup for this? Many of the characters we’ve come to know on the series have lived within this illusion of love, that circumstances and feelings of the present will somehow be enough to minimize matters of the past. Alas, that is not quite true, as evidenced more by the synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below:
While Margaret becomes more involved with the Wilcox family, Helen is incensed by the unfair fate of the struggling Basts. In a dramatic encounter at Evie Wilcox’s wedding the three families collide, and Henry’s past is thrust into the present.
It feels all but official that Margaret and Henry are not going to find peace anytime soon. As a matter of fact, we are nearing one of the biggest tests to date for these two characters.
The stakes of it all
Moving into Howards End episode 3, it does feel like there is far more pressure on this show than there once was. After all, originally we felt like there was a certain looseness to the show and it didn’t necessarily have all that much to worry about beyond pleasing fans of the book. Now, it’s established itself as a nice hit for BBC One and there is therefore concern as to whether or not it’s going to be able to live up to what it has already presented to date.
