This Is Us season 2 spoilers: Scoop on big Kate, Randall episodes

This Is Us season 2 cast

For those who have not heard, Tuesday night’s new episode of This Is Us season 2 is entitled “Number One” and will focus heavily on Kevin. This is actually the first episode in a three-part trilogy, with each episode revolving around one member of the Big Three.

For a little more insight regarding “Number One,” be sure to head over to this link. For the sake of this article, CarterMatt has more details regarding the next two parts of the story.

“Number Two” (airing on November 21) – “Kate and Toby’s lives take an unexpected turn. Meanwhile, Rebecca encourages Kate’s singing aspirations.”

The “unexpected turn” part of this synopsis is the part that has us extremely anxious. There are some circumstances in which this could mean great things, such as a new job opportunity or a breakthrough that takes their relationship to an even better level. However, there are many devastating things that could happen, as well — and on This Is Us, the latter tends to happen more than the former.

We give NBC a little bit of credit for having the guts to air an episode two days before Thanksgiving. Here’s to hoping that this does not end up having a huge impact on the ratings.

“Number Three” (airing on November 28) – “Randall and Beth are faced with a hard choice. Jack takes Randall on a college tour.”

One of the things that CarterMatt loves about the structure of these stories is the shared focus on different relationships. Each character seems to be getting a chance to spend time with one of their parents, whether it be the past or the present, while also having a story that is uniquely their own. For Beth and Randall, they’ve faced many a hard decision since making the choice to bring Deja into their home. They allowed her to have a relationship with her biological mother, but will that come back to bite them? We hope not, but we feel like we’ve already made our thoughts clear when it comes to the propensity of devastating things happening on this show.

“Number Three” may end up being the final episode of 2017 (current listings suggest such); if that remains the case, new episodes will resume in January.
