Supergirl season 3 episode 7 will feature Chris Wood’s return

Chris Wood's return

When is Chris Wood returning to Supergirl? We know that this is a question that’s been on the minds of many, so we’re glad to now have an answer!

Per a report from Den of Geek, Wood is going to be back for the upcoming November 21 episode entitled “Wake Up.” This is an installment you can read more about over at the link here, and there are many exciting things to come in it … but also some dangerous ones. After all, this is where Samantha could start to learn a little bit more about her history, and that could include her alter ego of Reign. Mon-El could be coming back at just the right time to help with that, provided that this is the same Mon-El she even remembers.

Judging from what Melissa Benoist told the aforementioned site regarding the upcoming Kara / Mon-El reunion scenes, this is not necessarily going to be what you would expect:

“It’s pretty mysterious … I think this season, we’ve really delved into a different tone, a different atmosphere for Kara. She’s really figuring out how to own her alien-ness, if you will, and in turn I think she’s finding her womanhood at the same time through grief and that grief is apparent even in the coloring of the show.”

Could Mon-El be bringing with him new connections and possibly some help in the battle against Reign? It looks that way given some of the recent reports that we’re going to be meeting Brainiac 5 on the show coming up. He is someone who is a part of the Legion of Super-Heroes, an organization that could prove very much essential in turning the tide against Reign down the road.

While it’s possible that there will be romance between Kara and Mon-El, we rather hope that the show takes a little bit of a break from relationships in the immediate future. We don’t want to see Alex paired up with someone else so soon in the wake of what happened with her and Maggie (the wounds aren’t healed yet), and beyond that we also don’t want to see a situation where Kara and Mon-El just pick up where they left off. They’ll probably get there in time, but it feels like a mistake to assume that this is the same Mon-El that was previously a part of Kara’s life. A lot has transpired since then, and that means in turn that they could have more to work through.

Is there talk about James getting a new love interest this season? Sure, but there’s no indicator on the exact timing at present.
