Poldark season 3 episode 7 preview (PBS): Are Demelza and Ross falling apart?
At the end of this past episode, it was clear that Ross and his wife are starting to fall apart at the seams. It’s also not that hard to figure out why it is happening. Ross is getting too caught up with other matters to see the forest through the trees. He doesn’t realize that Demelza is drifting towards Hugh Armitage, and he is also shirking away from some of the leadership possibilities that exist within his life. There’s a chance that he could run for office and turn the tide of the Cornwall region, but he is shying away from it. He thinks he is a fighter out in the field rather than a fighter who uses his mind. There is so much more to him than what he perceives, but trying to get him to realize that is not an easy task at all. It doesn’t help that someone like George is constantly trying to belittle him and in the aftermath of Agatha’s death, there is going to be more tension between him and George than ever before.
What may surprise some of you is that in Poldark season 3 episode 7 there will be a moment featuring Ross and Elizabeth regarding Agatha — one of the few that the two characters have had in the entirety of this season. Losing Agatha may cause Elizabeth to look outside of herself more than she has. She’s been willing to go along with George and some of his machinations for a long time, but she may now be at a breaking point where she realizes that his way may not be the right way. It doesn’t help that the paternity accusations are going to send George down a rabbit hole.
As for Ross and Demelza, the Poldark season 3 episode 7 synopsis CarterMatt has for you below seems to be focused on one key moment for them:
“George triumphs, as the ground collapses under his relationship with Elizabeth. Ross and Demelza bare their souls.”
One of the best performances of the entire season for Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson is going to come within this episode. We won’t spoil what it is in advance, but you’re going to know it when you see it.
