The Blacklist season 5 episode 6 preview: Tom’s suitcase warning
the title of this upcoming November 1 episode is “The Travel Agency,” and per some of the earliest teases that we’ve got about this one of the main cruxes of this story is going to be seeing just what happens when Tom Keen starts to become Icarus. He is chasing that sun — in this case the bones in the briefcase — but he is flying a little bit too close. Eventually, his flightpath is going to take him directly into it and he could explode and/or turn into ash. (Maybe this is too vivid of a metaphor, but this is what we’re going with for the time being.)
You can read more about this in the Blacklist season 5 episode 6 synopsis below, while also noting that there are a few other interesting storylines happening at the same exact time:
“11/01/2017 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) (Wednesday) : While Cooper (Harry Lennix) enlists Red (James Spader) on a case of personal importance, Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) leads the Task Force on a mission to stop the resurgence of once-dormant murder-for-hire ring. Determined to find answers, Tom (Ryan Eggold) disregards a warning to halt his investigation into the suitcase. TV-14 V.”
By the end of this episode the thing that we are hoping to see more so than any other is a chance to see Tom start to feel some real fear regarding this mission; this is a story that needs to build before getting to its peak later in the month of November. We recently reported that the fall finale for the NBC series will offer up a chance to see a little more closure to this storyline, or at least bring us to where we were at the end of the premiere.
Elsewhere, the most intriguing thing about this episode is likely the opportunity to see Cooper and Reddington working together just because they have such different ideologies as to how to get the job done. One follows the letter of the law, and the other follows virtually no laws at all other than the ones that he creates for himself in his head.
As for the Blacklist season 5 episode 6 promo below, it focuses mostly on the Cooper side of things — he has to be prepared for the thought of becoming a vigilante and abandoning his typical ways to get what he wants.
