Fear the Walking Dead season 4 premiere date speculation for AMC series

Fear the Walking Dead season 4 premiere date

Following tonight’s finale on AMC, what do you want the Fear the Walking Dead season 4 premiere date to be?

The big thing that we do know at the moment is that in the wake of what transpired this season, the fourth season premiere cannot come fast enough! While there were some very good moments during the first two seasons of the show, we’d be lying if we tried to hide the abundance of flaws that went along with them. There were a wide array of different issues that those seasons did have, whether it be inconsistent pacing or a lack of notable characters. Season 3 changed that dramatically — some of the characters who were lacking in previous seasons of the show started to find more of their voice while we also had some notable, rather fantastic new additions. We know that for us we had a really great time watching Troy Otto — awful as he may be. There’s just something about the Fear the Walking Dead world where you really do benefit from having a psychopath in the ranks in order to keep people on their toes.

As for possible season 4 premiere dates, for now the safe bet is to say that the series will return to AMC during the summer. This is what worked well for season 3 and we hope to see the pattern continue. We don’t mind getting some two-hour episodes here and there and we certainly don’t mind it having that sort of action-packed summer-movie feel. Ending it before The Walking Dead proper premiere also helps to ensure that the show serves as a worthy buildup to the show that generates the bigger ratings for AMC.

Possibly controversial thought: Did anyone else think that Fear the Walking Dead season 3 was better than any Walking Dead season since maybe season 5? We have seen a few reviews here and there stating that but there are still many viewers out there with a cynical viewpoint on this show.

One thing that we will note here is that the ratings trajectory is such that the show has finally found its audience — it hovered around a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic for much of the second part of this season. While this may not be a stellar number by any means, we do think that the show will be able to keep this crowd watching if they keep the quality the same. (Who knows? The show may be able to even get a few of their old viewers back.)
