The Walking Dead season 8 spoilers: Melissa McBride on Carol’s motivation
Obviously, the All Out War storyline is going to change things for Carol; she realizes at this point that she is too valuable to just sit on the sidelines, and she cares too much about other people. Speaking about the matter more to Entertainment Weekly, McBride lays out her character’s big return with the following:
“I think given the rise of Negan and all the horrible things that she survived since she left, she’s, she does feel a call to duty, and that’s the idea that her family never left. She just went off to save herself, but she knows she’s got to fight and she knows what that means to her. She laid it out for Daryl when he came to her cottage that she’s running a risk of losing herself in the fight, but it’s worth it to her. And I think we’ll see she’s going to fight the conflict in her mind, it’s going to be alive there too. There’s just no way getting around that — if she comes to terms with it. We’ll see.”
We feel like at the top of everyone’s season 8 wishlist at the moment is getting to see some more great Carol – Daryl scenes given the relationship and the care that these two have for each other. Beyond that, though, we’d love to see both her and Rick in the same room together, given that they are complete forces of nature and can be total killing machines. Also, is it too much to ask that we see Carol be the one who takes down Jadis and the Scavengers? If there’s anyone who could teach them a good lesson after their betrayal, it’s probably Carol.

I’m looking forward to seeing the LIVE ratings go up this season. I don’t know if that will happen, but it would be nice to see. I’d like to hear about a season 9 renewal ASAP. I think it is time for the group to get out of Virginia at some point, but I don’t know if it will happen.
