Outlander season 3 episode 1 now streaming; the show’s reach & what’s coming

Outlander season 3 episode 1

For every fan out there, it’s time to commence with the celebrations: Outlander season 3 episode 1 is now streaming on the Starz app! Technically, it’s been streaming ever since midnight, but maybe some of you waited to have your morning coffee and breakfast before diving into the events of “The Battle Joined”.

While we’ve watched the premiere as of this writing, the intention here is not to share any spoilers — though we will say that the episode proved to be very much worth the wait. We’ve got a ton of great stuff coming up later tonight on CarterMatt, including a full review for the episode, a preview for what is next on Outlander season 3 episode 2, and a feature geared towards a specific character from the episode. There’s a lot to look forward to if you’re a reader here, and these will be posted at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time (6:00 p.m. Pacific), following the East Coast airing of the premiere. We hope you come back and check out our coverage tonight!

For those wondering, we do have a schedule posted as to when CarterMatt is going to post specific articles related to the show for the entire season — there will be something new for you to read every day!

Before we do send you off to watch the premiere episode (if you haven’t seen it yet), we do want to send your way one last video via Starz. This one is a lovely thank you to all of the fans out there who have made this show the runaway success that it’s been. You can see all of the different tangible ways in which fans have given back to the fans, whether it be social-media accounts, events, premiere parties, and so much more. Outlander fans span multiple continents and have brought the work of both the show and the Diana Gabaldon books to life. Without these fans, we wouldn’t be fortune enough to write about the show as often as we do. We just think that it helps to put the entire premiere event into perspective, since it can get so easy to get lost in all of the other promotion and various press events that you’ve seen over the past week. This really is a fan-driven show; the fact that it beat out so many network shows with larger audiences at the People’s Choice Awards further proves that.

We presume that this is probably the time to stop waxing poetic, but it’s admittedly tough. It really is a full-circle feeling watching a show come back on the air after it being gone for so long, and covering almost every aspect of production from start to finish. Then, when you think about it, in a matter of weeks it’s all going to start again with Outlander season 4 while season 3 is still airing.

If you do want to read more about Outlander season 4…

We did post a piece last night, describing precisely all it is we know about it.

If you’ve seen Outlander season 3 episode 1 already, you can share your thoughts in the comments — but please, be mindful of spoilers for other fans and try to keep things as general as possible. (Photo: Starz.)
