Real Housewives of Orange County preview: Kelly Dodd vs. Meghan King Edmonds
Sometimes we discuss the episode for a moment or two before getting into the synopsis, but in this case we really do think that the episode description below by and large speaks for itself.
Synopsis – “Kelly suspects her new pal Shannon of being up to her old tricks and confides in Meghan, which blows up in her face when Meghan takes matters into her own hands. Meghan puts her detective hat back on to investigate Vicki’s issues with Shannon and Tamra. Vicki’s looking to move forward with her new love, Steve, while Peggy takes her daughter to New York to look at a school. The ladies attend a Drag Bingo event dressed as men, where Lydia faces a moral dilemma and old arguments spark anew as Kelly and Meghan tear into old wounds.”
The video below is both serious and completely ridiculous at the same time. Kelly delivers what is a pretty serious low blow on Meghan, telling her that she should be at home caring for her new baby rather than being out with some of the other Housewives. Yet, all of this happens while she is dressed up in some of the worst drag ever alongside many of her fellow co-stars. We don’t know whose idea it really was to attend Drag Bingo, but it’s ridiculous — as are many of the costumes. They’re dressed more so like strange New York street entertainers than regular dudes that you’d see walking around on the street.
Anyhow, when Kelly, who clearly has some pent-up frustration towards Meghan thanks to other events in the episode, fires off her accusation, it’s enough to make Meghan (while in costume) storm off in the other direction. Whether or not she returns is one of those things you’re going to have to wait and see on Monday.
Beyond this, another ridiculous moment on this episode is going to come via Vicki Gunvalson proclaiming that she has all of the receipts regarding Shannon Beador’s relationship. Our response to this is simple — why does this matter? In general, this is one of those things that we still don’t quite understand about the Real Housewives of Orange County cast as a whole. Why do you really need to worry all that much about whether or not you’re right or have the leg up on someone? Why does that matter?
