NCIS season 15 premiere spoilers: Who’s summoned to Congress?
The premiere episode, entitled “House Divided,” is airing on Tuesday, September 26 and what we know about this installment right now is that it’ll pick up a little bit of time after the 14th season concluded. It will show Mark Harmon and Sean Murray’s characters doing what they can to survive what is going to be a nasty pickle for themselves over in Paraguay.
The synopsis below gives you a sense of what’s going to be happening Stateside, and there are some elements of this story that could surprise you:
“Two months after Gibbs and McGee were last seen fighting an elusive group of rebels in a Paraguay jungle, the NCIS team in D.C. tirelessly searches for their missing colleagues. Also, Vance and Torres are summoned to a congressional hearing regarding the fallout from the Paraguay mission.”
Will Vance and Torres be able to help their friends within the hallowed halls of Congress? Well, if nothing else maybe they can illuminate some of the Representatives and Senators about the work that they do. Like many other investigative units the real NCIS team doesn’t get enough credit for some of the work that they do, and there are probably some steps that Congress could take to make their jobs better.
The reality, though, is that if they can get Congress to work with them, they’re probably going to have to spend a ton of time just explaining to some of these people what it is they do. They’ll probably look at the incident in Paraguay as a failure and question Vance’s team on whether or not they are operating properly. Anytime that you lose two of your agents overseas, there are inevitably going to be questions as to whether or not things were done in the right way. Hopefully, at some point during this process, there will also be some solutions.
Here’s the good news: Eventually, Gibbs and McGee are going to make their way back to Washington, whether it happens during the NCIS season 15 premiere or at some other point. The goal of this cliffhanger isn’t to draw doubt out of you that the two characters will suffer in perpetuity. They just want there to be a little bit of drama entering the premiere, and for you to question how this experience could change the two of them. (We do already like the bearded/scruffy look for Harmon and Murray — we haven’t gotten to see a whole lot of that over the past 14 seasons.)

I like heros! I want Gibbs and McGee to come out as heros – fight their way out! I love it when Gibbs does heroic deeds but want McGee to be looked at as a tough agent as well!
