Moving into Snowfall episode 9 airing on FX August 30, you can see even more of the show’s trajectory and what we’re building towards. One of the biggest ones is one simple question: Is Leon dead? At the end of tonight’s episode he was the source of the cliffhanger. Given that he was shot, it’s certainly not looking good for the guy as you have to sit around for the next week and wonder what’s going to happen to him. Even if he survives, though, the cost is still felt — you don’t come back from a shooting easily, and it raises the stakes and shows the amount of danger Franklin’s really found himself in.
If you look below, you can get some other information as to what’s coming next.
Snowfall episode 9 synopsis – “Franklin suffers the cost of his business. As Teddy’s situation deteriorates, so does his mental state. Gustavo and Lucia struggle with how to proceed.”
We admit that some of what’s in here is stuff we gloss over given that we mostly want an answer to the Leon question and none is forthcoming. We just hope that this is something that the show resolves in the opening minutes and we’re not left to wonder over what could be for the bulk of the hour.
The promo below doesn’t even give anything away — beyond some emotional ramifications, of course. What we’d argue is the most effective thing about it is how it demonstrates just how Franklin’s actions impact others. It’s something that he doesn’t quite think of when he’s so concentrated on finding his place and earning money — but it’s something that he really should be thinking about. That’s why he’s in this spot now.
What are the latest ratings?
We’re still keeping track of it even with the season 2 renewal, and the August 16 episode generated a 0.4 rating and the 18-49 demographic and just over 800,000 total viewers. The bad news is that last week marked the least-watched episode of the series. The good news? We don’t see almost anyone bailing on the show after tonight. This is the best cliffhanger that the show’s given us so far, and if you’re still with us, you’re in just about as deep as Franklin is when it comes to some of what he’s got going on. Let’s just hope that the show remains every bit as intense and fascinating as it’s been, and that it ends the season on a high note and sets the table for season 2 when it airs.
