Shadowhunters season 2 spoilers: How will Jace and Clary move forward?

Clary and Jace

At the end of the last new Shadowhunters season 2 episode, we saw a moment that certainly brought the characters of Clary and Jace together. However, it didn’t exactly happen in the way that the majority of ‘shippers out there probably wanted it to. They kissed because of the Seelie Queen, and a situation where it didn’t look like they were going to have any other choice other than having to do so.

So where are these two characters going to go from here? Well, our first assumption would just be that they would do almost anything in their power in order to steer clear of each other until they figure their feelings out. It’s awkward, and it’s easy to imagine why. Clary is still technically with Simon, even if he’s shutting her out for the time being. This relationship is strained, but maybe there is a way to repair it now if the two parties want it to be so.

Of course, the thing here is that thanks to what Jace and Clary do at the Institute, they are going to be spending some more time together. How soon will it come? Just think in terms of the upcoming July 17 episode entitled “Day of Atonement,” where the synopsis below indicates some of what’s going to be coming up for the characters:

“Jace and Clary go on an unsanctioned mission, while Maia helps Simon out at a Yom Kippur family dinner.”

While it doesn’t seem like there is anything altogether scandalous going on with Jace and Clary here for now, they’ve certainly gotta talk about what happened at some point, right? If they don’t do it Monday, this could be the perfect opportunity given that they’re off working on something together in secret.

Bonus scoop

Since this is the Fourth of July, why not go ahead and share the synopsis below for the July 24 episode entitled “A Dark Reflection”? This one doesn’t necessarily give you further insight in the way of Jace / Clary, but it does suggest some more interesting stories unfolding when it comes to Valentine:

“Clary struggles with the idea that her brother Jonathan is pure evil when it appears he is hunting down the mortal mirror for Valentine’s use.”

There is clearly one notable name missing in action here, and that’s Sebastian. Clearly, the folks over at Freeform are keeping him and his intentions under wraps as long as possible.
