Power season 4 premiere ratings; The Bachelorette, Preacher season 2

Power season 4 premiere ratings

With this report, we’ve got a number of items to discuss — for now, though, let’s kick things off with the Power season 4 premiere ratings.

The latest premiere for the Omari Hardwick series posted a fairly impressive total of 1.68 million viewers on Sunday night — with that said, this is the first time that a premiere has aired to lower numbers than the premiere beforehand. (The season 3 premiere posted a total of around 2.25 million.) The 18-49 demographic doesn’t matter as much for a premium series, which is one of the reasons why we’re not bothering to specify it all that much here.

Ultimately, though, the thing to remember here is that the numbers are deceptive — Power, like many other Starz series, is available early through the app and there may be many people who watched it that way. The ratings picture here is definitely incomplete. Luckily, there’s no real reason to worry about anything in the near future given that Power was already renewed for a season 5.

Update via Starz – We’ve now heard that there were 3.26 million multiplatform views on the night for the Power premiere, and with an added caveat that the show was up against the BET Awards, that is a very solid start. It is down slightly versus the season 3 multiplatform launch, but remember that this could change when the time-shifted data comes in.

The Bachelorette – The latest edition of Rachel Lindsay’s journey to find love Monday night drew its lowest ratings to date in a 1.4 in the demo. While you can claim that the Bachelor in Paradise drama is a factor, it’s far from the only thing that is causing a problem with this show. Just remember for a moment here that ratings for this season have been down throughout; in total, they are down almost 19% versus what they were with JoJo Fletcher as the lead. Obviously, the franchise isn’t going anywhere, but the drops this season are pretty notable.

Preacher – Meanwhile, the season 2 premiere of the AMC series drew a 0.6 rating on Sunday. While that is down by a hefty amount versus its premiere, it’s actually fairly close to its season 1 average. If it manages to keep most of that number when it airs on Monday nights, you have to think that the network will be happy enough to give Dominic Cooper and company a season 3 renewal.
