The Fosters season 5 episode 1 spoilers: First news on ‘Resist’ premiere

The Fosters season 5 episode 1 is entitled “Resist,” and it is going to be coming your way on July 11. That may be a little ways away from the time of this writing, but we do very much have a feeling that it’s going to be worth the wait!

For the time being, though, we’re eager to give you some of the first insight as to what to expect. Remember that the cliffhanger featured a whole lot of conflict when it comes to the status of Anchor Beach, and then also an extremely-dangerous situation that awaited Callie thanks to where she ended up. So much for her is in jeopardy, and she has to figure out how to survive long enough so that Stef or someone else can find her — provided that she is not able to figure out a way to escape on her own.

“The fifth season picks up immediately from the dramatic cliffhanger finale where – thinking that a jail sentence was inevitable – Callie volunteered to take foster teen Christina’s place and went with Diamond to return to her pimp.”

There is a whole lot of content coming in this story that isn’t even mentioned at the moment, and that includes everything from Jesus’ recovery to seeing if the relationship between him and Brandon can ever be healed. This is a show that absolutely loves to challenge itself — every season, the writers put themselves into a position where you wonder how in the world they are ever going to get themselves out of it. Then, they find a way, and all of a sudden it’s about trying to move on and find the next big shocker that changes the game once more. It’s a difficult thing to routinely pull off, but the show does find a way to do just that.
