Youth Theatre Arts Scotland campaign with Outlander’s Sam Heughan reaches goal
Today, we are pleased to confirm that the Youth Theatre Arts Scotland campaign has reached its goal of £20,000! It’s a momentum occasion, one that is absolutely worth celebrating since it guarantees that so many youth in Scotland will get an opportunity to take part in the upcoming event.
In a statement following the announcement, Sam had the following to say:
“As Patron of Youth Theatre Arts Scotland I could not be prouder of what our supporters have achieved. They are amazing! Youth Theatre is for everyone; it’s about being supported by your peer group, learning skills, not just acting but all the other sides needed for working in TV, film and the theatre industry. But, please don’t stop giving – the more we raise the better the festival we can put on. If we can acheive a further £5,000, we can fund theatre events at the festival campsite where young people make friendships for life, and educational activities for local theatre groups in Ayrshire. Some special new rewards for donors have been added, so please visit our Kickstarter page and support us in hitting this new goal.”
You can contribute, in the event that you have not already or want to do so again, over at the link here. (That is also where you can see a new video from Sam congratulating the organization on achieving the goal.) There are several new rewards available to check out if you contribute, including t-shirts signed by Sam and also Outlander books signed by series author Diana Gabaldon. Supporting youth theatre may be a reward in itself, but who would ever turn away something else exciting along the way?
Happy giving, and remember how important youth theatre is to shaping young minds and promoting artistic expression. Without it, the landscape of entertainment today would be profoundly different all over the world.
