The Originals season 4 episode 12: Joseph Morgan shines as The Hollow causes chaos
As the episode progressed, Klaus, Hayley, Rebekah, and others all had an opportunity to learn the truth about what was going on with her. By and large, it didn’t end well for them given that The Hollow had a lot of power and plenty of influence to go along with it.
Still, how far Klaus went in order to save Hope and keep her from giving in to the darkness was all sorts of touching. He basically hard to journey within, and reach to her and the connection that he had with her. The relationship between Hope and Klaus has been one of the best parts of this season, anchored by great performances from Joseph Morgan and Summer Fontana. It’s too bad that it didn’t quite work as Klaus wanted it to.
Of course, the big problem here was that even if the plan to extract Hope at worked, that didn’t mean that Klaus and company had the win. This ancient / crazy / all-powerful witch has found so many ways to survive already. Also, this is only the penultimate episode of the season; did you actually think that she would be removed from the equation before the finale? She’s still out there, and now they have to try to figure out another way in order to save her … if it’s even possible.
Tonight’s episode ended with a heck of an emotional Klaus speech as he proclaimed that his daughter was out there fighting in the darkness, and he and his siblings had to find a way to bring her back. Almost all hope was lost, until Vincent came up with a suggestion that could work. The twist? If Klaus goes through with it, it could alter the Mikaelson family forever. They may not be able to ever see each other again.
