Bachelor in Paradise 4: Corinne Olympios, DeMario Jackson scene may have sparked production halt
There’s a fascinating thread of tweets online from Amy Kaufman from the Los Angeles Times, someone prolific in Bachelor Nation who may have very good sources close to this. She claims that the show stopping production stems from an incident between Corinne and DeMario early in production where they got drunk, ditched their clothes, got in the pool, and then … well, do we have to spell this out? Kaufman notes that the two didn’t have sex, but engaged in some other salacious stuff that seems par for the course with this franchise.
The next day, Kaufman reports that a producer didn’t show up for work, and then this producer supposedly went on to sue production for misconduct. It’s still very early and there are more than likely further details that need to come out since suing a show shouldn’t necessarily mean stopping production completely. For now, though, this is some of the information that is out there — these sort of things often do have a trickle-down effect.
If this is it, it would be slightly unusual for the show to end production over something like this given that there are so many incidents of this sort of conduct in the history of the franchise. They’ve also kept production in the past going even in the past of reports of “inappropriate relationships” between cast members and then people who work on the show. Remember that incident with the crew member jumping out the window a few seasons back? There may still be more to this story, but it’s not fair to speculate on what that is or if it even involves DeMario or Corinne. Those are just the two names at the center of reports at the moment.
Based on the fact that the entire cast for Bachelor in Paradise 4 was already flown out of Mexico and seems to be back in the United States, all signs point to production probably not continuing for the time being. Depending on how all of this unfolds, maybe the show comes back at a later time — just not this summer. It’s hard to see everyone getting rounded back up in Mexico in time.
Stay tuned, as further information will be reported once it is out there. (Photo: ABC.)
