Shadowhunters season 2: Katherine McNamara on Sarah Hyland addition

Beyond the casting of Will Tudor as Sebastian, no Shadowhunters season 2 casting has generated the level of attention as Sarah Hyland. The Modern Family star may only have a small role when you think about the scope of the entire series, but she is still a big name and someone who will add that extra spark and attention to what is already a very beloved show.

Of course, it’s a little challenging to try to get any further details about Hyland’s role beyond the fact that she is a part of the show. Speaking on that subject to Entertainment Tonight, series star Katherine McNamara made it clear that there is almost nothing that she can say:

“I’m sorry. I want to tell you, I really do! But they’ll kill me … You guys are going to be so happy. I cannot wait for you to see this.”

One other thing that McNamara did say is that apparently, Hyland’s casting is something that the entire cast and crew have been keeping a secret for a little while now:

“We’ve [the cast have] been keeping that so secret for so long. It’s been so hard. I’m really proud of us because we’ve all been so excited about it and it’s been really hard to keep it secret.”

“She’s been a part of this family since day one, and so having her on this show was only natural.”

This comment is a reference to the fact that Hyland is in a relationship with Shadowhunters star Dominic Sherwood (Jace); provided that she wanted to be a part of the show in some way, it only made some sense that the producers found a way to include her. Part of the fun here is more than likely going to come out of the fact that this is a new dimension and a rather fun way in order to get to see her.

Hopefully, you will get a chance to see Sarah on the show over the next few weeks. At that point, the cat will be out of the bag, and you will then get a chance to just enjoy the opportunity to see her on the show.
