Lucifer season 2 finale spoilers: Expect crazy season 3 cliffhanger

season 4 cliffhanger

When the Lucifer season 2 finale airs on Fox Monday night, you should be ready for the craziness that will ensue! Apparently, a big season 3 cliffhanger is on the docket, so be ready for that. This show has definitely given a wide degree of surprising twists and turns already, but clearly it’s far from done in terms of finding unique ways to get your hair standing on end.

Speaking in a new interview from TVLine, executive producer Joe Henderson set up the foundation for this finale, which is going to be in part about Mom / Charlotte, while also setting the stage for a pretty fantastic third season set to air this fall:

“Lucifer finally answers the question of, ‘What do you do with a problem called Mom?’ and it’s the biggest episode we’ve ever done. It’s also our most special effects[-heavy] episode ever. We made a very big episode and somehow we were able to pull it off, so it’s explosive, but most importantly, and very important to me, it wraps up the Season 2 storyline and then ends on a cliffhanger that sets up what Season 3 is going to be.”

Will Tricia Helfer remain a part of the story once everything is said and done? Hopefully so, even if she’s not someone you see in every episode. Having so many connections to Lucifer around the show is fascinating since it gives you such an interesting array of different crazy lenses in order to view the character. It also adds tremendously to the humor, which is one of the biggest cornerstones of the show for us.

Ultimately, the main things we hope to see within the finale is some resolution with Mom, and then also a chance to have some great Tom Ellis – Lauren German scenes to establish where the relationship between the two of them stands entering the third season. One of the primary selling points of the show is the dynamic between these two, and the more they push this and find new avenues for them to work, the better off the series will be in the end.
