When will Blue Bloods season 8 start filming?
To try to answer this question, one of the first things that you can do is effectively look at the filming schedule for last year. Filming for season 7 first kicked off around July, and this was leading up to a premiere in September. Given that this is a show that effectively moves like clockwork, you can more than likely expect the same sort of thing to happen here once more. Given that July 4 falls pretty early in the week this summer, it wouldn’t be a surprise if filming didn’t start until once the cast and crew are on the other side of that date.
As always, filming for the show takes place out and about New York City, so you will continue to get a slice of that authenticity thrown in here to go along with everything else that you love about the show: Great performances and memorable scenes that touch on some relevant issues. With the scripts being worked on in the weeks and months ahead, it’s fair to imagine that the new season of the show will be a reflection of many modern-day issues much in the way that it always is. With this show in particular, though, one of the big issues is trying to toe the political line given that there are people who watch from virtually any and every side of the political spectrum.
In other words, be sure to keep coming back to get some additional news! There is definitely still a whole lot to look forward to. One of the biggest things that feels like a given is an increased presence for characters like Jamie and Eddie, who were definitely in the background through much of the final episodes of the season. (Will Estes did have a prominent role in the story in the finale, even if his screen time was fairly limited.)
What do you want to see when it comes to Blue Bloods season 8 when the show comes back on the air? Be sure to share some of your thoughts now with a comment!

I was thinking of a show touching on the boys and everyones’ trauma with the house burning down. Went through that as a kid and know how much it influenced me. Caused a lack of faith. Wish the family would pray again at the dinner table also…

Jamie’s interest in helping mentally ill, and his request that his dad form a review board for policies dealing with that population, is interesting and timely. Mentally ill are both victims and offenders, and are often put in jail without thorough, evaluation unless there is an officer/department with expertise and passion for therapeutic vs punitive placements.
