Fox 2017 Fall Trailers: See Ghosted and Seth MacFarlane’s The Orville

The Orville

In the wake of the full schedule being released, who is ready for some Fox 2017 Fall Trailers? The network only picked up a few new shows to air this fall. The good news is that of these shows, all of them have a certain degree of promise.

If you do want to see when some of these shows specifically air, be sure to head over to the link here in check it out.

The Orville

Logline – “Set 300 years in the future, the live-action comedy-drama follows the adventures of the Orville, a not-so-top-of-the-line exploratory ship in Earth’s interstellar fleet. Facing cosmic challenges from without and within, this motley crew of space explorers will boldly go where no comedic drama has gone before.”

Trailer – This feels very much like a network TV Galaxy Quest, with the main difference being that these are not actors pretending to be space travelers. Seth MacFarlane and Adrianne Palicki play the captain and first officer of a spaceship that is a part of many different misadventures. This is a funny show on paper, but it still remains to be seen if the humor translated to a full hour or if the gag gets old.

Ghosted

Logline – “A cynical skeptic and a genius ‘true believer’ in the paranormal are recruited by The Bureau Underground to look into the rampant ‘unexplained’ activity in Los Angeles — all while uncovering a larger mystery that could threaten the existence of the human race.”

Trailer – With Adam Scott and Craig Robinson as the leads, this feels like there is potential for it to be the funniest new show of the season. It’s also pretty ironic that a show spoofing The X-Files is airing on the same network as The X-Files.

The Gifted

Logline – “The Gifted focuses on a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.”

Trailer – This is another comic-book franchise, and this in itself will probably give some people out there pause. The trailer on its own, however, is rather outstanding in its depiction of some of these powered people as they try to establish a new life.
