With The Flash season 3 episode 21 airing on The CW next week, the race to stop Savitar is really heating up more than ever! Some questions are now out of the way, but there’s still the issue of trying to connect the dots in order to defeat him. Take, for example, the presence of Tracy Brand. The scientist is one of the only ones capable of doing damage to him, so next week’s “Cause and Effect” is almost going to be akin to a hype session to get her to the place necessary in order to beat him sooner rather than later.
Of course, there is also another problem out there in Killer Frost, who has now shifted her allegiance to the dark side. The synopsis below offers up a reasonably good inclination as to everything that will be coming next.
The Flash season 3 episode 21 synopsis – “Barry (Grant Gustin) takes drastic measures to stop Savitar. Meanwhile, H.R. (Tom Cavanagh) continues to push Tracy Brand (guest star Anne Dudek) to design the trap for Savitar and Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) returns with an interesting proposal.”
What this proposal is could prove very interesting, especially since it could further help to create the distinction necessary between Killer Frost and Caitlin; specifically, we mean this in terms of learning if there is a way to get her back or if any of Caitlin is still even in there. If she’s not there, then you do have to wonder if the team can really protect her anymore. How long do you let someone live freely who is out to destroy your lives? There could be difficult decisions that come as a result of this.
In the end, the big thing to know here is that there are only three more episodes to go this season. Therefore, whatever is going to be done in order to stop Savitar is going to have to be done quickly. Otherwise, the team’s ending season 3 dead and that’s not much in the way of a good cliffhanger.
Warning: MAJOR SPOILRS ahead.
Tonight’s episode revealed that Barry from the future is Savitar. Next week, the promo reveals that trying to insulate Barry from himself will be priority.
