Supergirl season 2 episode 20 promo: Key story for Mehcad Brooks’ James

Supergirl season 2 episode 20

It feels like it’s been time for a while to get a key James Olsen episode; Supergirl season 2 episode 20 will do its best to make good on that. “City of Lost Children” is the title for this hour, and it will mark an opportunity to take on another extremely personal story. This is effectively the third week in a row where there is a very human issue that is of equal importance to anything going on when it comes to superpowers. While Supergirl is of course going to be important, it may be up to James as Guardian to actually save the city from a mysterious new alien race.

For some further news about that, all you need to do is take a look at the synopsis below.

Supergirl season 2 episode 20 synopsis – “When an alien attacks National City, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and the DEO learn the alien is a Phorian, an otherwise peaceful race with telekinetic powers. Guardian (Mehcad Brooks) gets a lead on the Phorian’s address but instead of finding the culprit, he finds a very scared boy named Marcus (guest star Lonnie Chavis). Marcus will only trust James so it is up to Guardian to stop the attacks on the city. Rhea’s (Teri Hatcher) plan escalates.”

This episode will effectively lead into a powerful pair of episodes to close the season, one where the threat from Rhea could be at a peak but where the entire situation in both National City and the country could boil over. We know that Lynda Carter will be reappearing as President Marsdin, and what is especially interesting here is that the final episodes have some emotionally and politically-charged titles in “Resist” and then “Nevertheless, She Persisted” for the finale (a reference to Senator Elizabeth Warren). These titles probably won’t be too directly referenced in the action of the story itself, but we do think that they are absolutely worth noting as you get a sense of the tone for the end of the season.

Promo – This doesn’t focus on James per se, but it does give you a sense of how Rhea’s plan involves children — remember that she does have a partnership now with Lena, even if Lena doesn’t know who she is.
