Supergirl season 2 episode 19 sneak peek: Inside the ‘Alex’ crisis

Supergirl season 2 episode 19 sneak peek

Ready for a Supergirl season 2 episode 19 sneak peek? Monday night’s new episode “Alex” is here, and we’ve got a sense of it now.

In the video below, co-executive producer Jessica Queller and executive producer Robert Rovner do their part to detail this big episode. One element of it that hasn’t been altogether talked about as of late is the fact that whoever kidnaps Alex Danvers seems to be keenly aware of the fact that Kara is Supergirl, which is why they chose to abduct her sister in the first place. As the producers note, this is why it is so important that nobody knows the truth about who she really is, especially since there are so many powerful aliens / anti-alien activists out there who would be more than happy to see her gone.

Moving forward from this, the sneak peek also does a good job of hitting into what the emotional core of “Alex” will be — a crisis between Kara and Maggie as to the best way in order to save Alex from where she is. Kara is used to going in guns-blazing, while Maggie as a police officer has to take a more measured approach. They’ll be at odds over not only how to initiate the rescue mission, but also who is the alpha in this relationship and who therefore is the best person to properly lead the charge. Eventually, you have to think that the two parties will figure this out, given that resolving this is ultimately about so much more than just trying to save Alex here; it’s about cementing what the remainder of their relationship is going to be moving into the future. We don’t think that Maggie is going anywhere, and of course neither is Kara when it comes to her relationship with Alex.

All in all, expect a great episode with strong performances across the board. Effectively, this is the second straight episode of the show that may be more about acting than it is special effects or heavy action.
