Scandal season 6 episode 12 sneak peek: Fitz / Rowan tension and more
Olivia Pope’s father makes it clear to Fitz and his daughter in this preview that he knows that the target is on his back, and as a result of that, it’s his new goal to get the hell out of Dodge sooner rather than later. He’s fine to go to Paris; meanwhile, Zanzibar sounds appealing in its own right. More than anything, the biggest thing that he knows is that he doesn’t want to be targeted.
There is a reason for Rowan to fear, but there is a reason for everyone to fear given that a big part of the story moving forward now is the arrival of Peus and a shadow government that could be unseating everything from within. Right when you think that the course of the political future is set, something comes in to try and overthrow the whole operation. We’ve already seen already precisely how dangerous some of these people are, given that we’ve seen the death of one big character already in Elizabeth North.
Who wants to imagine that Rowan doesn’t end up getting his wish? It makes sense for him that he wants some safety, but it makes sense for us that he stays pat. After all, do you really want to live in a world where Joe Morton is not a substantial part of Scandal season 7? That is just depressing to us given that he is one of the finest actors on the show at the moment.
Beyond this, there is another rather-stupendous moment within this sneak peek that is extremely worthy of pointing out — Fitz kissing Olivia before even getting into a conversation with Rowan. This is, by our own personal estimation, one of the best pure examples of trolling that we’ve seen from the character on the show to date.
