Rosario Dawson not appearing in The Punisher series

Rosario Dawson

Given how many times Claire Temple shows up across the Netflix – Marvel universe, it’s a surprise when you don’t end up seeing her somewhere. With that in mind, we’re here today to pass along the regrettable news that regardless of how much we may want it to happen, she will not be a part of the upcoming The Punisher series premiering a little bit later in the year.

Speaking in a new interview with Collider, Dawson had the following to say about the union that came together for the upcoming The Defenders, and some of the challenges that came along with it:

“At the end of the day, it’s really hard to get all of those casts together. For The Defenders, it was difficult to get everybody together. People are busy! There are so many times where I really want it to happen. I really wanted to do a cameo on The Punisher, but it doesn’t always work that way.”

Not seeing Dawson in The Punisher would be disappointing mostly in that she’s one of the common threads to all of the different shows. Whether it be Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, or Luke Cage. She is a common thread. Other than the setting for these shows, there aren’t all that many common threads.

One of the only other things that we do wish we saw a little more of was some connective tissue between the Netflix version of the MCU and everything else, but we know that this is next to impossible. Therefore, we imagine that our dreams of seeing the likes of Jessica Jones and Luke alongside a Spider-Man or a Captain America are simply that. Heck, we’d be just as excited to see Quake or Coulson turn up within that world.

The Defenders will premiere on Netflix over at the link here — head over here to see a teaser that confirms the premiere date! There isn’t a whole lot of official news out there yet on The Punisher, which Netflix is being extremely secretive about for one reason or another.
