Poldark season 3 spoilers: Ciara Charteris as Emma Tregirls officially confirmed

Ciara Charteris

As we now know, Poldark season 3 will be premiering this summer on BBC One, and with that we’re thrilled to have another slice of official casting news.

It’s certainly possible that you heard previously about South African actress Ciara Charteris (Close to the Enemy) being cast for a role on the series. Now, it’s been confirmed by the show’s official Twitter (see below) that she will be playing Emma Tregirls. Many people out there likely figured that out already, but it’s still nice to know that for sure — probably even more so for people who are familiar with the character already from some past iterations of the work.

It appears as though Charteris is going to be appearing over the final episodes of season 3. We’re not in the business of giving away too much when it comes to spoilers, especially for people who aren’t familiar with the material that is already out there, but it is nice to see the show / the Mammoth Screen production company lift the veil here and there on various teasers.

Now, we’re mostly at the point where the waiting is going to start to ramp up. It’s exciting in some ways to have the show on a little earlier in the year than it was during season 2, but for one reason or another, that is not making the waiting any easier at all. We still find ourselves bubbling over with anticipation, excited to see precisely what it is the show brings to the table this time. Hopefully, we’re also going to get an opportunity to see some other sort of teaser/ trailer as we get a little bit closer to the show coming on the air. Any further chance to lift the veil on the story and the show’s interpretation of some key events, the happier that we’re going to be.

If you did miss it, you can head over to the link here in order to check out some further analysis for the Poldark season 3 premiere month, and what this many mean for some American viewers out there.

Meanwhile, we of course welcome your thoughts on Charteris as Emma below, in the event that you have not shared them previously. (Photo: BBC.)
