Bates Motel season 5 episode 8 promo: Is there any help for Norman?

There are just three episodes left, and with that we anticipate Bates Motel season 5 episode 8 to set up what should be the downward spiral for one Norman Bates. It’s already clear that this is a young man who is beyond assistance in so many ways. He’s haunted, demented, and willing to do anything and everything that he can in order to pursue his own future and get what he wants. We don’t think that this is going to happen, but given the freedom that the show’s taken when it comes to the story, we don’t put anything past them.

The biggest thing that we anticipate seeing in the next new episode, more so than anything else, is an opportunity to see just how far people are going to go in order to help Norman, a guy who is probably so far beyond that.

Bates Motel season 5 episode 8 synopsis – “Mother uses tough love to protect Norman; Sheriff Greene begins a murder investigation; and Dylan gets his brother help.”

We give Dylan a little bit of credit for trying, but we do wish that there was someone out there who was able to whisper in the poor guy’s ear that it’s simply not worth it, and that there is effectively nothing that can be done to help someone who is this close to the edge.

As for what Mother is going to do in order to protect Norman, it’s mostly just Norman trying to protect him from himself. He wants to remain insular on some level, given that this separation makes it easier for him to reconcile precisely what he’s done.

Promo – At the end of tonight’s episode, we saw Norman call 911 to confess to killing Sam Loomis after nearly killing his brother. That was a chilling moment, and moving forward, it simply looks as though these are going to continue. Norman is going to do everything that he can in order to battle Mother, but it won’t come easy. Meanwhile, Dylan will insist that Norman is mentally unstable, and is not in control of many of his own actions.
