Grey’s Anatomy season 13: Latest Meredith / Riggs photo and questions
While there remains no clear indication that the two parties are going to be getting together by the end of the season, there is one thing that we can tell you — they are going to be spending a little more time together outside of the office! The photo above from the upcoming April 6 episode entitled “What’s Inside” should serve as some of your proof of that. Maybe this is the two finally getting a dinner date? It’s tough to say one way or another, but we do know that the foundation was laid at the end of this past episode.
For the time being, though, Ellen Pompeo is still doing everything that she can in order to convince some fans to exercise caution on the idea of Meredith and Riggs being in a relationship. In speaking further on the subject to Entertainment Weekly, the actress passed along the following message on what Meredith’s philosophy could be towards the idea of the relationship:
“Whether you’re ready or not, you have to make the leap; I don’t know if she’s ready.”
Do we hope that Meredith is ready? Absolutely. It just has to be in a way that works for her own timeline, since she cannot let any other expectations or feelings work for her. Otherwise, it’s going to be incredibly hard for the relationship to work. One of the things that is working for her in terms of the relationship working is that Riggs is not entering this with any undue expectation in terms of what the relationship is or what he can expect from it. He knows her past, and he has a past of his own. They’ve both been through a lot, and therefore have the capacity to be incredibly sympathetic.
There’s still plenty of time this season, so even if there is not any resolution on the subject of Meredith / Riggs in the next few weeks, there’ll be many opportunities after that. Odds are, the producers are also not in too big of a rush given everything with Maggie and other characters at present.
