There are bad Wheel of Fortune puzzle solves, and then there are ones that are so bad that they’ll go down in the annals of history as some of the worst ever.
Today, we’ve got for you an example of the latter. Recently, contestant Kevin looked to solve a title puzzle that was actually A Streetcar Named Desire. However, what he did instead was spin the wheel and choose a “K” rather than an “M.” Basically, he wants to see A Streetcar Naked Desire, which we assume may exist by the time this article goes up if it doesn’t already. Poor Kevin took the mistake about as much in stride as he could, and the same goes for most of the other people in attendance. Pat Sajak made a joke that he would much rather see Kevin’s play, and the same probably goes for many different people out there.
This is really just one of those things that you gotta laugh at, and as a former Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? contestant, we can tell you that being in the studio filming an episode is SO much harder than being at home watching. You’ve got the lights on you, the stakes of playing for real money, and also the sinking feeling that you’re steadily forgetting everything you once knew. Sometimes, you get so nervous that you say the wrong thing, or you doubt things that you already know to be true.
We can’t speak for Kevin in this particular situation, but our heart goes out to the guy. We figure that if you’re going to be on Wheel of Fortune, though, there are two goals: Winning, and then being memorable. Kevin was absolutely memorable, and we don’t think this mistake will be forgotten anytime soon.
Just in case this is not enough for you and you do want to see a wide array of other great Wheel of Fortune puzzle fails, we’ve also got that for you below! The second video comes courtesy of CNN, and it features some of the greatest toss-up fails in recent memory. It’s a slightly-different situation, but still probably a difficult pill to swallow.
So get a good laugh at the end of your day here — you deserve it! We also figure that Kevin would probably want it that way if he’s got a good sense of humor about the whole thing. (Photo: Wheel of Fortune.)
